ITE Northern Alberta Luncheon: City of New Westminster Public Rail Grade Crossing Review

Bunt & Associates was proud to sponsor the ITE Northern Alberta luncheon on October 1, 2025 in Edmonton. Our Transportation Engineer, Kyle Briggs, P.Eng., PTOE, RSP1, delivered a presentation on Bunt’s study supporting the City of New Westminster’s Public Rail Grade Crossing Review.

The project focused on upgrading public grade crossing in the Queensborough Island neighbourhood and advancing whistling cessation to improve overall road safety in New Westminster, BC. The study area included 14 rail grade crossings with varying levels of warning system protection. Kyle highlighted the crossings’ unique characteristics, outlined the Grade Crossing Safety Assessment process, and shared key findings and insights.
