Project Spotlight: New St. Paul’s Hospital

Set to open in early 2027, the new St. Paul’s Hospital represents one of the most significant healthcare investments in BC’s history. Bunt has been proud to support the $2.18 billion project as the transportation engineering consultant since 2019.

Located at the nexus of major highways, arterial roads, transit, cycling routes, and adjacent to Pacific Central Station, the site is uniquely positioned to serve communities across the region. Bunt provided design input on the proposed parking, loading, and transportation demand management plans for the new 548-bed capacity facility. We also conducted a comprehensive Transportation Assessment and Management Study (TAMS), which formed part of the technical submission for the City of Vancouver’s approval process.

Christephen Cheng, Principal, says: “With connectivity at its core, this project is about more than access. It’s about creating an integrated, healthy, and multimodal transportation network that supports patients, staff, and the broader community. The new St Paul’s Hospital is the catalyst in supporting more health-care related employment uses within the False Creek Flats and Strathcona areas.”

We’re proud to contribute to a project that will support healthier, more connected communities for years to come.
