International Women’s Day 2026: A Q&A with the women that power Bunt

Sunday, March 8, marks International Women’s Day – a global day celebrating the contributions and achievements of women in all facets of life. It is also a day to recognize progress made towards equity and the work that still lies ahead in workplaces and communities.

We’re incredibly grateful for the women of Bunt, who play a huge role in shaping who we are – from our culture and decision making, to how we approach our work every day. Their leadership, creativity, and unique perspectives make our community stronger, and we’re proud to work alongside them.

In recognition of International Women’s Day, we asked some of the women of Bunt a few thoughtful questions:

Q1: What’s one piece of advice you would share with your younger self / the next generation of women starting their careers?

1: Don’t underestimate the impact of initiative. Throughout every professional career, there will be opportunities packaged to look like more work (an industry event, training someone, a left-field proposal). Often these provide learning or practice that is invaluable.

2: Respect yourself and trust yourself – bring your voice to the conversation and don’t be shy about it. You’re going to make mistakes – just push forward, and the more you do that and the more practice you get, the better your evolution within employment and life will be.

3: Any form of power and rights are not meant to be assigned, especially not based on gender. Never feel shy or nervous to be ambitious and competitive.

4: There’s no such thing as what women are “supposed” to be good or bad at, or what they should like or dislike. Don’t let stereotypes limit you – trust yourself and go after what you want.

5: Build your skills, but also build confidence, and know your worth. Advocate for yourself the same way you would for a friend.

Q2: What’s something about yourself that you’ve learned to truly value over time?

1: My willingness to experience/attend things on my own without a group. There are so many opportunities out there that people miss out on simply because they are afraid to try without someone else with them.

2: Whenever I feel that I want something, I step forward and make the effort to achieve it. This makes me feel more in control of my life.

3: I have limited myself more than anyone or any organization has limited me. Shifting my perspective from ‘Do I want to take this on?’ or ‘I have to do this’ to ‘I get to do this’, ‘What could I learn from this?’ or ‘If I don’t, what could I be losing out on?’

Q3: Is there a woman in your life who has significantly influenced your personal or professional journey, and how?

1: I had a wonderful female mentor early in my career that recognized I needed to believe more in myself – she was always pushing me to speak up, do things that were hard for me as an introvert. She believed empowerment was 50% bravery/50% support.

2: The person who has influenced me most is my grandmother. She started a business when it was rare for women to work, balancing it with raising four children. Her perseverance and sense of responsibility have shaped how I approach life and work.

Let’s take this moment to acknowledge and celebrate all the amazing women who inspire us every day, inside and outside the workplace.
