Hugh Jones, the backbone of the Bunt Prairie data collection operation, shifts into retirement

Tomorrow, August 1, marks the day of retirement for Hugh Jones, the backbone of the Bunt Prairie data collection operation. During his 11 years with Bunt, Hugh has explored all manner of urban and rural places throughout Alberta and Saskatchewan, as well as parts of Southeastern BC and Manitoba. He has braved everything from brutal cold and zero-visibility ice-covered rural highways to blazing heat and clouds of voracious mosquitoes, all in the name of getting the data we need to do the work that keeps us going.

All of this has been accomplished in his loyal Chevy Avalanche truck, which now has close to 400,000 km on the clock. Hugh’s soft-spoken manner and brilliant smile have long been a wonderful part of the Calgary office since 2014, and will be missed. A lot.

Hugh is an awesome human being and we wish him all the best in his retirement!
