Highlights Projects Golden Ears Bridge Project, Lower Mainland, BC Helping to provide a vital new link between the communities of Langley, Maple Ridge, Surrey, and Pitt Meadows, this bridge is expected to open by 2009. Acting as the Owner's Engineer, Bunt & Associates was responsible for all traffic planning and analysis tasks during the various project stages, and assisted in the RFP process, evaluation of the bids and final selection of proponent. University of Alberta, Travel Demand Management Study, Edmonton With increased traffic activity a significant strain has been put on universities, colleges and other major institutional activity centres dealing with roadway congestion issues and limited land for parking expansions. Bunt & Associates role on behalf of the U of A was to review the current thinking on TDM practices and determine the applicability of various strategies. Vancouver Convention Centre, Vancouver, BC Bunt & Associates has been retained to provide transportation planning and design services for Vancouver's new $495 million expansion to the VCEC. The key design elements are the vehicle arrival plaza, parking for the project and surrounding precinct and a large below-grade truck loading and service area. Metrotown Parking Wayfinding, Burnaby, BC The merger and renovation of two large shopping centres in the Metrotown area has resulted in the second largest retail centre in Canada. Bunt has designed a consolidated wayfinding and traffic control system for a series of parking garages in the project with more than 8000 spaces. Trinity Point Planning Study, Fort Worth, Texas Forth Worth and Texas officials are planning a project to divert the Trinity River and redevelop 500 acres in the reclaimed watershed. Bunt & Associates has been retained as part of a consultant team to plan the infrastructure and new neighbourhood development. Ningbo Project, China Bunt & Associates provided transportation planning expertise for the redevelopment of a riverside neighbourhood in the City of Ningbo, China. Located near Shanghai, Ningbo is an affluent port city undergoing rapid growth and modernization. The plan converts an old industrial zone next to the downtown into a new residential and commercial showpiece. Century Park, Edmonton, Alberta Redevelopment of a vacated regional shopping centre site will transform it into a transit-oriented urban village as a showcase project for Edmonton's Smart Growth initiative. The plan includes an LRT rapid transit station, a bus exchange and commuter parking blended into a mixed-use residential-commercial project that fully capitalizes on the use of transit. Bunt & Associates has been retained as transportation planners for the project.
