Bunt was engaged by Hopewell to complete the transportation planning work for the proposed Mahogany Community Plan. The work provided a general overview of the transportation requirements based on the preliminary land use assumptions for the proposed community. Bunt was responsible for the establishment of appropriate road sizing for the entire community and assessing the benefits related to the future transit station planning area. Subsequent to the completion of the Community Plan and related Outline Plan, the City of Calgary and Hopewell sought to increase the overall density for the community from 8.0 UPA to approximately 11 UPA. This increased density reflected Council's motion of a minimum density of 7 UPA for new communities is no longer the upper limit. With this in mind, Bunt then reassessed the network requirements based on potential TDM reduction factors related to the future Transit Planning Station.

The results to the study were then used to support the City's recommendation regarding increased density and promotion of transit.
